Dorota Szulc
Corporate, Legal and Compliance Manager
I am responsible for compliance, contracts and insurance management, and to deliver this, I work closely with MAST’s executive team and the divisional heads to ensure that as a company our operations are legal and that we adhere to the appropriate regulations and ethical standards required of a UK based security company with an international client base. Ultimately, and this is the challenge that I really enjoy, my goal is to help the executive team maintain and build the good reputation of the company.
Auditing, spot-checking, policies, procedures, contract management and maritime security have been my bread & butter for over 15 years. Following an academic research career path at the London Shipping Law Centre, University College London, I became involved with commercial security consultancy, security training and explosive ordnance disposal companies. Prior to that, I was responsible for implementation of the ISPS Code at the maritime government agency in Gdynia, Poland and was a member of the maritime security advisory body at the Ministry of Infrastructure.
Having won a Chevening Scholarship with the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office, I graduated in Maritime Law, obtaining a postgraduate degree (LLM) at the University of Southampton.
Outside of work, I am a busy mum and enjoy showing our beautiful world to my children. I love reading books and listening to, sometimes very loud, music.
