MAST’s Director of Physical and Asset Protection, Adam Usher, has this week welcomed John McVey to the team. John will take the role of Chief Instructor and has been appointed to lead MAST’s Close Protection courses which will be taking place in London throughout 2020.
John has over 35 years of operational and strategic experience in security and crisis response. During his military service, John served with the Royal Military Police (RMP) Close Protection Unit (CPU) as a Protection Leader and Trainer and will bring to the course the highest RMP CPU standards.
Full details of our SIA-approved course in Close Protection will be announced shortly which includes a comprehensive package of skills, delivered in a diverse range of environments in fast-moving, challenging and realistic scenarios. Attendees will learn a wide range of skills including threat assessments, surveillance, teamwork, conflict management, vehicle techniques, IED awareness, communications and kidnap for ransom situation training.
