Libya’s UN-backed PM calls on 5 countries to activate security agreements

TRIPOLI, Dec. 20 (Xinhua) — The UN-backed Libyan Prime Minister Fayez Serraj called on the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Algeria and Turkey to activate security cooperation agreements.

In the letters Fayez Serraj sent to the presidents of the five countries, he called on them to activate security cooperation agreements to protect Libya’s capital Tripoli from aggression of “any illegitimate armed groups,” the PM’s information office said in a statement late on Thursday.
