Six new pirate attacks were reported in the Indian Ocean off Somalia in March and April 2017. A zone particularly affected by piracy between 2005 and 2012. Nevertheless, thanks to international monitoring and protection mechanisms, Attempts at piracy were all thwarted and did not cause any injuries.
